Nadia Ackerman's love of jazz greats Nancy Wilson, Blossom Dearie, Carmen MacRae and Betty Carter began shaping her future from a very young age. She undertook the challenging path of a jazz vocalist and toured extensively while recording and releasing three CD’s internationally. Then suddenly, about a year ago, early 2006, she began to write songs, every day. The songs were not “jazz” but they spoke of and to her singing talent to such a degree she has now undertaken the much more daunting endeavor of performing her own material in some indefinable genre.
