Joe's Pub is proud to present Broadway veteran and six year Saturday Night Live favorite Ana Gasteyer in "Elegant Songs from a Handsome Woman." Gasteyer brings her unique comic wit and style to the stage in her show of songs and stories. The comedy superstar dons a dress and works her hardest to keep the evening elegant with her powerhouse vocals showcased in Broadway melodies, and beloved – if forgotten – standards and showtunes from Gershwin to Gilbert and Sullivan. With a gentle assist form Director Julian Fleisher and Bandleader Jon Spurney, Miss Gasteyer fronts a swinging ensemble in an evening that promises to be classy, brassy and sassy or classy, brassy, quirky and tear-jerky, depending on world events and/or her hair frizz factor!
Gasteyer has been seen on Broadway in WICKED, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, THE THREEPENNY OPERA, and THE ROYAL FAMILY. Ana's numerous film credits include Mean Girls and The Women, and television credits include The Good Wife, Chuck, and Law & Order. Currently she can be seen as "Sheila Shay" on the new ABC hit comedy series, Suburgatory. Join this gifted performer for a delightful night of music and laughter.
