Artist Description

Lindsey Wilson’s sound and style is diverse ranging from bossa nova jazz to '70s nostalgic folk-pop music. Her original compositions reflect a spectrum of musical sensibilities and influences while maintaining her own distinct style. Her lead and background vocal chemistry have fused with a number of talented bands and producers, such as Quite Frankly, Derby, The Savage Juliet, Mary Edwards, Robb Scott and Contraband. With these and other groups, as well as her solo act, she has performed at New York City's hottest venues such as B.B. King, CBGBs, The Mercury Lounge, The Fez, Tonic, Elbow Room, Lion’s Den, Baggott Inn, Groove, Sine’, The Living Room, Arlene’s Grocery, Coda, Folukie, and The Cutting Room. In addition to her solo work, Lindsey Wilson currently performs with a sensational all women's drumming group, L.A. and Simplyskins: Daughters of the Drum. Simplyskins has performed for the United Nations, Maya Angelou, and educational circuits nationwide. She also lends her versatile vocal skills to Sirens of the Shrine. This enchanting a capella group is led by singer/songwriter Barbara Morrillo of the '60s girl-group The Cake, along wih violinist Karen Lee of the multi-faceted musical group, Shrine as led by Ms. Morrillo. Lindsey has contributed her original music to Brookenya, a soap opera series produced by Community Theatre International, which featured a profile in The New York Times. Lindsey’s theatrical/film experience extends to performing with comedienne/writer Emmy Gay, Cinemagic Productions, Mass Transit Theater, the Urban Youth Movement. She also worked as assistant music director for the theater production “Through the Fire” by actor/director Shawn Love, for which she was pleased to perform her original compositions. Lindsey also can attribute her songwriting talents to a number of film scores for filmmaker and director Theresa Brown's Cinemagic Productions.
