Artist Description
"Bell X1 singer Paul Noonan's vocals whisper give-ins more than come-ons, offering explanations for why he stopped fighting his attraction to the nameless, genderless subject of the song. "I would dare to speak its name if I knew what it was called," he sighs, then shouts, and it's suddenly hard to believe that Noonan was Bell X1's drummer before frontman Damien Rice left the band"- Pitchforkmedia.com
Bell X1 and Damien Rice used to be a band called Juniper. Showers of critical acclaim followed the release of their second record, Music in Mouth, in 2003 in the UK and Ireland; the public too were keen. Keane, Snow Patrol, The Frames, Bon Jovi (?!) and Elliot Smith are some of the people that Bell X1 have toured with. Their current record Flock was released in Ireland in October 2005 and went straight to number 1 in the pop charts, followed by many sold out shows and all that jazz.
"….a gorgeous album… majestic and elegant, from four men at the top of their game."
- Nick Duerden, Q
"This is rock with gusto and drive and confidence and intent. Radiohead as Radiohead should sound now. It puts down a brave marker."
- NME
"Bell X1 is the biggest band in Ireland at the moment..."
- Vanity Fair
