Artist Description

Joined by a cavalcade of the city's most vibrant creative forces for what promises to be a rarefied affair of signature melodies and clever lyrics, with a soupçon of revolution thrown in for necessity. More than a few songs from his band, Plantains, a mainstay at long-lost Fez Under Time Café, will be resurrected. Currently, Nick is composing music and lyrics for a new large-scale theater piece in collaboration with Jessica Blank, co-author of Liberty City (concurrently at NYTW) and The Exonerated. He has also been penning tunes for Weimar New York, among other downtown cabarets. His love of new music and media has led him down a varied path of performing, composing, curating, and creating art in a variety of contexts. He recently sang music of Meredith Monk at Performa07 and will be interpreting songs by Arthur Russell at The Kitchen this spring, where he will also produce a chamber-concert of the rock band Oneida's album, The Wedding.
