Grammy nominated soprano Caroline Worra is joining the roster of The Metropolitan Opera this year covering the role of Mrs. Naidoo in Philip Glass' Satyagraha.  She sang Jenny for the Grammy Nominated CD of The Mines of Sulfur as well as the title role for the recently released CD of The Greater Good; The Passion of Boule de Suif .  The New York Times and Opera News just named the CD one of the Best Classical Recordings of 2007.

This past fall, she returned to New York City Opera for a sixth season covering the title role in Handel's Agrippina.  NYCO highlights: Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni; Jenny in The Mines of Sulphur; Amy in Little Women; Frasquita in Carmen; The Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel; Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly; title role in Daphne; Countess in Capriccio; title role in Agrippina (cover); Emilia in Flavio; L'Amour/La Follie in Platee; Norina in Don Pasquale; Curly's Wife in Of Mice and Men.

A recipient of the Richard F. Gold/Shoshana Foundation Career Grant, Caroline finished her sixth season with Glimmerglass Opera this past summer.  Glimmerglass highlights:  Eurydice in Philip Glass' Orphée; Boule de Suif in the World Premiere of The Greater Good; Jenny in the American Professional Debut of The Mines of Sulphur; Amy in Little Women; Mrs. Mueller/Katy Wendler/ Madame Kakonyi in The Good Soldier Schweik; Youcka in L'Etoile.
