AKILA WORKSONGS, Inc. is a leading arts+activism company that offers management, public relations (including marketing and writing services), and consulting services (event planning, special project management, and cultural programming). Social Entrepreneur, activist, and writer, April R. Silver, founded the company in April 1993. Since then, it is emerging as one of the country's leading Black-owned, woman-owned companies of its kind.

The concepts of truth, justice, love, and beauty are central to AKILA WORKSONGS. They thread those concepts throughout all our operations. They purposefully blend art, entertainment, education, and community into our projects. While it is their intent to support the work of people from communities of color, they have (and will continue to) proudly serve and collaborate with any artist or organization that shares their values, principles, and commitment to excellence.
