This is the word on the street about Matt Morris' debut album, The Un-American LP (available in late 2008), from Justin Timberlake's new label, Tennman Records. With songs that bring to mind Freddie Mercury, Bill Withers, and Jeff Buckley, yet feature the talents of Austin legend, Patty Griffin and famed artist, Edie Brickell, not to mention the production stylings of Charlie Sexton and Timberlake, the album is as divergent as it is contagious. And Matt himself is as unexpected as he is real.
It is Matt's voice and inescapable lyrics that make his music intoxicating. His songs are seductive, addicting, playful, soulful, and ultimately unforgettable, and his voice draws you in, smooth and powerful, and rough when it needs to be. Matt Morris = The sound of jaws dropping
I happened upon Matt Morris when he did an impromptu song in Cleveland years back. I vividly remember simultaneously feeling my jaw drop and having to catch my breath. That one song, one performance inspired me to go on a journey to find out about that Matt Morris guy, and I haven't looked back since. Matt music demands attention with both his ethereal voice and commanding lyrics. I'd love to be in a position to hear more than once song from this amazing talent; don't squander your chance!

If I wasn’t all the way across the country, I know where I’d be on June 19 at 11:30pm: at Joe’s Pub witnessing the amazing anomaly that is Matt Morris. Part R&B, part rock, part jazz, all heart. His lush vocals heighten his impressive lyrical skills. A true singer/songwriter.

I was lucky enough to see Matt perform almost 10 years ago and have been anxiously awaiting the day I'd get to see him again!! Now I jealously say YOU get the opportunity to see a Man who's career has spanned over a decade but who's enthralling voice, deeply profound and passionte lyrics and genuine heart has eluded the majority of the public. You get to experience one of his first performances after finishing what I'm sure is a life changing record. So be sure to catch this cat before his star is so far out you'll need a space ship with lightning speed to reach it! you WILL NOT regret this!

No Hyperbole
First, I've got a bone to pick. I move from NYC to Albuquerque, NM and NOW you bring my absolutely favorite artist!!? Look, I can forgive you, just heed this warning: Book him NOW for a return engagement before the world 'wakes up' and discovers him... (remember that other little guitarist named Mayer who just hung around for a minute). You're truly in for an incredible evening of honest, gut-wrenching lyrics, vocals, arrangements... Matt's anointed for what he does and he's humble to boot.., go figure!! Have a great evening(s) of music, laughter and down right revival. I'm really having a tough time with you, now, NYC. Gotta go and start my campaign to bring this brother to Albuquerque!!
Experience
I was privileged to witness an impromptu performance in Cleveland a few years ago. With one song, Matt gave me goosebumps and took my breath away. The music is wonderful, his performance outstanding. Matt is sure to deliver a incredible musical experience. New York, enjoy the show.

In my opinion, to explain Matt Morris is to be at a loss of words. I agree with Cassie and Laura as well as every other fan. But I don't feel that any positive description is accurate. See for yourself: check Matthew out. It's an evening you will enjoy, never regret, and an experience you won't forget. You want a personable, interactive, charismatic artist? You found him. You want to feel the soul, the heart behind the music? You will. You want to lyrics that speak to you, that put depth into an emotion that your feeling? You've got it. Purchase a ticket; feel the electricity. Anticipate the waiting, the love, the spirit, the soul. You won't be disappointed.

Matt Morris is one of my all time favorite vocalists. I love his music. His music is so inspirational. Although I havent seen Matt perform live yet, I have been a huge fan for along time. You're very lucky to have him perform in your area. DONT MISS OUT!
