Artist Description
Falu is best known for blending ancient classical Indian melodies with contemporary western sounds. In her burgeoning U.S.-based career, she has worked with and performed alongside a wide array of artists including A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire), Yo-Yo Ma (in The Silk Road Project), Philip Glass, Wyclef Jean, her teacher Ustad Sultan Khan, Blues Traveler, and Bernie Worrell (Parliament Funkadelic).Falu’s list of performances include numerous solo concerts at classical music venues such as Carnegie Hall (Zankel) and Lincoln Center, as well concerts with her band at venues such as the Highline Ballroom and Bowery Ballroom. Her live performances have been featured nationally on FOX TV and internationally on National Geographic TV, while her voice has been captured in multiple films including Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut A Place in Time.
