Ethan Iverson

Artist Description

Ethan Iverson is best known as the pianist in the postmodern jazz trio The Bad Plus.  Since the group's formation in 2001, Iverson, Reid Anderson, and David King have released four studio records, been featured on the cover of most major jazz magazines, and have performed in venues as diverse as Carnegie Hall, Bonnaroo, and the Village Vanguard. The New York Times says TBP is "better than anyone at mixing the sensibilities of post-60's jazz and indie rock?"

Iverson is also currently a member of the Billy Hart quartet and recently participated in special trio with Charlie Haden and Paul Motian. Other celebrated jazz artists Iverson has worked with include Dewey Redman, Dave Douglas, Bill Frisell, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tim Berne, Hank Roberts, and Mark Turner.
