Lead singer of Freshly Ground, South Africa's most popular band of the moment, Zolani Mahola's daring voice and magnetic stage presence in a multiracial band have challenged the contemporary cultural landscape of the post-apartheid era. At once whimsical, earthy, and ferocious, Zolani continues to rise as one of Africa's most celebrated new voices. The evening marks her debut in New York CIty and will include performances by fellow South African band Mikanic.
