South Africa's Sharon Katz & The Peace Train bring their Grammy-nominated, Afro-Pop-Jazz-Roots fusion back to Joe's Pub for a fun-raising concert and dance party of exhilarating music, exotic harmonies and authentic Zulu dance with a message that goes straight to the heart. Touring worldwide as Nelson Mandela's cultural ambassadors, their credits include performances and CDs with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Sting, Tina Turner, Madonna, Dolly Rathebe and Miriam Makeba. US performance highlights include New Orleans, Jazz & Heritage Festival, The Getty in Los Angeles, Smithsonian in DC, and Carnegie's Hall's Neighborhood Concert Series. The concert is a benefit to build a school and community arts center in South Africa where children currently have to walk 3 hours to the nearest school.
