Artist Description
Brian Selznick won the 2008 Caldecott medal for The Invention of Hugo Cabret, a national bestseller. He has illustrated many picture books and novels, including the Caldecott Honor Award winner The Dinosaurs of Waterhouse Hawkins by Barbara Kerley, the Book Sense Book of the Year finalist Amelia and Eleanor Go for a Ride by Pam Munoz Ryan, and the two million copy bestseller Frindle by Andrew Clements.Also a puppeteer, Brian performed in the original casts of Basil Twist's "Symphonie Fantastique" and "Petrushka." He's currently working on a trilogy of puppet shows about Christine Jorgensen, Hans Christian Anderson, and Walt Whitman.
