Artist Description
Frankie Gavin is one of the most visionary and inspiring virtuoso Irish fiddlers in the world; the founder, heart and core of the legendary band DeDannan, with over 16 Cd’s, and performances the world over, from The National Concert Hall in Dublin, to the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, to the White House.
Frankie is in
top form, and is thrilled to introduce you to the sensational new
line-up, which will rock any audience with the energy and passionate
artistry that only the best in Irish Music can deliver.
The new line-up is led by Frankie Gavin on fiddles, flutes & whistle, with Damien Mullane on accordion, Eric Cunningham on percussion, flutes & whistles, Mike Galvin on bouzouki & guitar, and Michele Lally on vocals.
The New DeDannan will launch a CD in early 2010, featuring guests such as Ronnie Woods of the Rolling Stones.
For many years traditional super group De Dannan were the forerunners
in the Irish traditional music world, but after 33 years, 14 albums and
a number of changes in the line-up, the group disbanded in 2003. Now
original founding member Frankie Gavin has unleashed a new De Dannan
which in his own words will reflect a De Dannan of the 21st century.
