Born and raised in New York, based in Brooklyn, Michael Sackler-Berner is a singer-songwriter with roots in the past, and a sound very much in tune with the present. Surrounded by longtime collaborators of artists like Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones, Sackler-Berner's music is distinguished by the songwriting craft of that era, and by a contemporary rhythmic sensibility, anchored by some of the heaviest drummers of our time.Sackler-Berner's body of work is unified by his bittersweet voice, paired with a lyrical economy and an expressive feel for pop dynamics. The songs, whether ballads or uptempo, are constructed with a delicate sense of emotional momentum.
