Artist Description
Kyle deCamp works in multiple mediums, in an ongoing investigation of the intersections of art, history, and individual lives from multiple perspectives. Her solo performance "Urban Renewal", in development for 2012, is a meditation on perception, public policy and the significance of the buildings we live in. Her work has been produced by EMPAC, The Kitchen, Creative Time, PS122, Dance Theater Workshop, Artists Space, ICA London, Szene Festival Saltzburg, Time Festival Ghent. Awards include Commissions from the New York State Council on the Arts, Jerome Foundation, Greenwall Foundation and Soros Foundation, a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, and a "Bessie" Award. She is on the faculty at Barnard/ Columbia and Princeton University.Kyle first met the wonderful Suzanne Boccanegra and Amanda Stern during Yaddo artist residencies, and is pleased to serve on the Board of Yaddo.
