Mark Erelli, Mark Geary and John Francis

Show Description

Ever since his debut at 24 years old, Mark Erelli has exhibited an uncommon musical maturity. In a few short years, he's got four albums to his name, over 500 concerts under his best, and multiple awards. During a time when most young artists are still searching for their own voices, he has quietly build one to the most impressive and varied reputations in modern roots music. On his latest album, Hillbilly Pilgrim, an entire album of western swing originals, Mark immerses himself in vintage twang without abandoning his contemporary sensibility and the heartfelt thoughtful lyrics of folk. "Hillbilly Pilgrim does Western Swing proud, as it's brimming over with wry, heartfelt songcraft, invigorating tempos, and pedal-steel guitar dazzling as an Arizona sunset...Erelli has crafted a near-perfect album." - Paste Magazine

New York-based Irishman Mark Geary, a recent finalist in Disc Makers Independent Music World series started out playing with Jeff Buckley. Since then he has launched a successful solo career. His latest Signature Sounds release "Ghosts" has brought him to the forefront of the singer-songwriter scene and his live performances promis to keep him there. "His delicate songs about love and defiance…recall Richard Thompson and John Lennon." – Time Out NY

John Francis has been described by the phrase, "Think Johnny Cash meets Jeff Buckley". In the past year, his passionate performances and eloquent songwriting have drawn comparisons to Bruce Springsteen & Dylan. His soaring voice and delivery have been mentioned in the same breath as Bono. Francis has been turning heads wherever his music goes. In the past month, WXPN (88.5-Philadelphia) has added John Francis' new record, 'Strong Wine & Spirits', to heavy rotation with his song "Heavy, Heavy Love", zepplinesque poprock with wailing guitars and JF's signature vocal acrobatics. A recent Philadelphia Folk Alliance review stated, "John Francis and his band have raised the bar!", and the Philadelphia Inquirer reviewed, "...of his artful, brooding nature (think Damien Rice and David Gray), Francis paints rich, atmospheric portraits of a troubling world...I say make it a double!" The spirit of John Francis' music is provocative, haunting, and spiritually moving; his performances full of conjuring, empathy, and transcendence.
