Show Description

Irish based The Guggenheim Grotto weave a heady mix of pop, folk and soaring melodies around their ever present vocal harmonies. The trio - Kevin May, Mick Lynch and Shane Power - are multi-instrumentalists, completely at home in charge of a breathtaking array of instruments both onstage and in the studio. The band's long playing debut '...Waltzing Alone', packaged in a beautifully unique red leather binding, was self-released to immediate critical acclaim in Ireland in 2005 and the single 'Told You So' rapidly became a firm favourite on Irish airwaves and within weeks climbing to #12 on the Irish National Airplay Chart. Filled with a host of (as yet) unrecorded gems in addition to their album tracks, the band's stage shows are incandescent. Their on-stage dynamism and musicianship continue to draw in new devotees, while never failing to impress existing fans with renditions of what are fast becoming classic songs. KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic host Nic Harcourt has raved about their album, calling it "...one of the most beautiful records of the year." - Paste Magazine

Named "Musician of the Year" at the 2001 West Coast Music Awards, Luke Doucet is emerging as a new and exciting voice of his generation. Having been a member of the Canadian rock band Veal and touring extensively with Sarah McLachlan and Chantal Kreviazuk, Luke has been busy to say the least. His debut solo album Aloha, Manitoba has got everyone sitting up and paying attention. "Like Randy Newman and Neil Finn, Luke Doucet is a songwriter'ssongwriter." – Now Magazine
