Jill Sobule is a long-time big fan of Julia Sweeney's. Julia Sweeney is a long-time big fan of Jill Sobule's. They met at a conference in Monterey eight months ago. They jumped up and down when they met. Giggles and gushing occurred. Jill invited Julia to perform with her the next time she had a show in L.A. Julia agreed. Jill sang songs. Julia told stories. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it didn't. But the audience laughed and clapped and smiled and sometimes even cried. Mostly, they seemed to want more, more of Jill & Julia! So, now it's... like, a real show. And it's sweeping the nation! (Jill wrote that...)
Well, it's sweeping Los Angeles when we play at Largo and now, possibly, New York City too!!! I mean, at least for one night at Joe's Pub. So come for some fun with Jill & Julia.

I saw Jill's show on Monday and it was as great as always - loose and funny, and heartbreaking, and filled with fan requests and new songs.
There's also a free download of a previous Joe's Pub show on her website right now.
The new Joe's Pub website looks fantastic, BTW. My favorite part is the rule about no "excessive" profanity.
