Holcombe Waller

Holcombe Waller

Show Description

“Waller's evocative, almost androgynous voice will always foreground his creative output, but he has the vision of an artist, rather than a vocalist. As such, he uses that beauty as a tool to establish an emotional foothold with the audience, so that he can then unpack his finely crafted and haunting sensibility. In songs like "Little Wrecking Ball," about the infant Jesus, and "Eyes Like Knives," about a soldier who abuses prisoners, it's impossible not to get caught up in Waller's sweeping vision”  - Chas Bowie, Portland Mercury

Holcombe Waller is a Portland, Oregon based singer-songwriter and performance artist with three critically acclaimed albums.  Tonight Holcombe’s entire ensemble “The Healers” will be joining him to perform songs from his 2005 album “Troubled Times,” from his upcoming album and music theater performance “Into the Dark Unknown: The Hope Chest,” as well as from his 2007 folk operetta of Patty Griffin and Townes Van Zandt covers, “Patty Heart Townes."

Joining him will be multi-instrumentalist and longtime musical collaborator Ben Landsverk, Kelly Meyer (viola, french horn, vocals), Steve Kennon (french horn, vocals), as well as “The Ahs,” a wonderful West Virginia-based duo comprised of Tony Rogers (cello, vocals) and Amy McIntire (banjo, vocals).  We can also expect some very special guests.

Join us for an evening with Holcombe Waller and the Healers.
