the everybodyfields

Show Description

"Great name…even better music and debut album. Simply excellent music." - Bluegrass Unlimited

Drawn together by a common passion for creating inspired "newgrass" acoustic music, these sterling musicians crossed continents to collide deep in the heart of Texas, where-as The Greencards-they've rapidly distinguished themselves amongst a new generation of acoustic musicians. The Greencards, Eamon McLoughlin a South London native, and Australians Carol Young and Kym Warner, were named 'Best New Band' at the Austin Music Awards , and recently tapped by Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson to support their American tour. They attribute their success to the band's diverse musical mastery and the good luck that brought them together halfway around the world with their love of country music. MOVIN' ON, the band's self-produced release is an immensely invigorating, truly satisfying exploration of the rich mother lode that is roots/Americana music.

Honest country music from the Great American South. the everybodyfields, the Tennessee trio that is rapidly gaining a deserved reputation as front-runners of the newest generation of the alt-country movement. the everybodyfields offers melancholic interpretations of universal human stories set to achingly beautiful melodies and put to life with such instrumentation as lap steel, lead guitar, electric bass, and acoustic guitar. The members cite their influences as country, rock and roll, and folk. Fronted by Sam Quinn and Jill Andrews, the two share instruments and seamlessly merge their wildly different voices-Quinn's echoing twang reverberates like a long-lost radio broadcast and provides a hard edge to Andrews' pure, soothing tones. Megan McCormick, is the group's lead instrumentalist. Her musical expertise shines through without distraction, giving great respect and an added level of beauty to the integrity of each song's true meaning and melody. Straightforward and sure, the everybodyfields are more accessible to listeners than many modern musicians, and their set's gentle humor combined with their songs about real life's sorrows and hardships demonstrate an appreciation for tradition while conjuring up something that is not at all traditional.
