McKee has taken the long way home in a rich career marked by many gutsy detours – from neo-punk to Broadway diva, art-rocker to poet. Maria McKee's sixth solo album, Late December, a lush and majestic new studio album is set for release in April 2007 on Cooking Vinyl US. The album, which she co-produced with her husband, Jim Akin, basks with dramatic flair and the assimilated influences of countless artists ranging from Lou Reed, Joni Mitchell, David Bowie, Patti Smith and Jim Steinman.
