KT Tunstall is a sparkling songwriter with Chinese blood, a Scottish heart, great legwarmers and a cool name. KT celebrates classic singer-songwriting in the tradition of Rikki Lee Jones, Carole King and Fleetwood Mac with an articulate, accessible, immediate brew of rootsy sass, wistful quandary and after-hours atmosphere. The latest in a line of outstanding contemporary Scottish songwriters, KT's unique perspective offers a rare emotionally connecting intensity through it's gripping lyrical bite and heartfelt melody.

Tunstall broke into the public eye with a performance on Later with Jools Holland of her song "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree". Her debut album, Eye to the Telescope, was released in late 2004. Tunstall's style of music varies from folk to pop. Tunstall's second album, the recently released Drastic Fantastic, premiered on September 3, 2007 in Scotland, followed a week later on September 10, 2007 with the London release for the UK and September 18, 2007, in the US. In its first week, Drastic Fantastic reached #1 on the Scottish Album Charts. She's been compared the "Rock-likes" of PJ Harvey and Patty Smith and the "funk-folk-likes" of Suzanne Vega and Ani Difranco. Either way, fans of each would appreciate Tunstall's work.
