Show Description
From the folk-friendly venues of NYC's Lower East Side to the hype-crazed clubs on the Sunset Strip, Lucca has made an impressive name for himself as an artist not to be missed. Like Lucca, many artists have taken to the stage and studio with nothing more than a guitar and a handful of heartfelt songs. Fewer have managed to do so without being pigeonholed, or worse, lost in the shuffle of a seemingly endless parade of singer-songwriters. Tony Lucca has not only managed to stand out as an original artist in defiance of genre classification, he's done it diligently for close to ten years, constantly honing his craft and cultivating an extremely enthusiastic following every step of the way.
For an artist with four studio albums, a dvd, a handful of live records, songs placed in prime time TV shows (including the critically acclaimed ABC series, Brothers and Sisters and NBC's Friday Night Lights), and having shared the stage with everyone from, Macy Gray to Chris Whitley, you would think Tony Lucca might be a household name by now. Instead, Lucca manages to stroll casually under the radar, patient, persistent and completely content with his place in today's music business. This long gestation period seems to have paid off for his audiences, as Lucca's live shows reveal his earliest influences with the kind of maturity and respect that only comes with time. It's here that Lucca gratifyingly expresses his appreciation for song in a way that seems to be absent in so much of today's contemporary music.
