Michael Leonhart celebrates the release of Hotel Music on St. Ives, an imprint of Secretly Canadian. Written and recorded over the course of five months on the road with Steely Dan, he passed his downtime using various camera & cell phone microphones, his portable sampler, laptop and whatever instruments that happened to be within reach. The result is a cinematic musical portrait that mixes Serge Gainsbourg hooks, bedroom drone, California Pop and Downtown experiments. The record will be released on 200 limited edition, hand-painted recycled album covers.

At Joe's Pub, Hotel Music will be re-created in a multi-media performance featuring a female choir, brass trio, beat-boxer, DJ and projectionist.
