Kendall Jane Meade, aka Mascott, writes songs that are part Joni Mitchell and part Dusty Springfield, with a direct and wide-eyed tone that suggests it's all part of life's rich tapestry. Her first full-length record was produced by famed Chicago producer Jim O’Rourke, the title track from her second album, Dreamer’s Book, was chosen for a Starbucks compilation, and others were featured on The OC and Grey’s Anatomy. A new album, Art Project, will arrive late summer, courtesy of Meade’s own label, Red Panda Records. Tonight she will be joined by longtime bandmember Margaret White, a multi-instrumentalist that has also played with Cat Power and Belle and Sebastian.
