Show Description
Fresh out of a less-than-fulfilling relationship,
Michelle "Shells" Haylie Hoffman is ready to shed her 9-to-5 facade
and convince her ex that she is more than just a "successful J.P. Morgan
senior analyst." Hopping from hilarious, original music to tales of the
"rough" life, Shells weaves the story of an upwardly-mobile Manhattan
gal trying to have it all. Armed with a glass of Shiraz and a penchant for
drunk-dialing the one person she never should, Shells demonstrates that the
fabulous Sex And The City life she thinks she is living and the life she
actually leads are two very different things.
Hilarious, pathetic and ultimately quite poignant, Shells
will leave us all cringing, saying: "I know her," or worse, "I
am her!"

I'd seen this show on various Joe's Pub eblasts over the past two years. It had piqued my interest, but I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. Last December, my wife and I were in the neighborhood, and we stopped by Joe's and caught the show. I was amazed. We loved it! It felt like a really strange (albeit awesome!) party, meets a comedy show, meets a rock concert. I can't wait to show my friends this Thursday. My wife and I are Shells devotees!
