Show Description
An engaging band with a dynamic stage presence, Kind Monitor has become known for delicate song-writing, intricately melodic bass-lines, and top-notch live shows chock full of guest musicians. KM has shared the stage with Shortbus’ velvet-voiced crooner Scott Matthew, the outrageous Lady Rizo, indie-rap star louis logic, and, more recently, a host of well-textured jazz musicians.
Explains band leader Joshua Aaron Guthals: “Each song to me is a complete world, no matter what mood or tone that world takes; it is a conversation between artists and audience. New musicians bring new life to the music for everyone.” Look for jazz drummer, flutist, and double-bassist to grace the stage with KM at Joe’s.
Kind Monitor has an unusually ardent following among New York’s most talented artists, who see an intelligence, openness, and clarity in KM’s songs. KM’s iconic logo, a bird perched on a musical tree branch (courtesy of designer Scott Ballum) inspired KM’s hand-designed stage clothing (courtesy of clothing designer Solomon Eversol), and finds its melancholic complement in the crisp longing lines of the band photography (courtesy of photographer Jerald Stein).
Come celebrate everyone’s hard work at an unforgettable evening of KM music and much audience revelry.
