Kailash Kher's Kailasa with special guest: Karsh Kale
Having performed before ten of thousands of fans around the world, Kailash Kher and his six piece band Kailasa bring their signature blend of Indian and Sufi-inspired rock, folk, and pop to Joe's Pub for a unique and intimate performance. Trained as an Indian folk vocalist, Kailash first made his mark in the Bollywood film industry and has since been credited with dozens of hits. With an incredibly powerful and controlled voice that have led many to compare him to the late qawwali maestro Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Kailash is today one of India's most recognizable and "in-demand" vocalists.
In 2001 Kailash paired up with some of India's leading rock and jazz musicians, particularly the Mumbai based brothers Naresh and Paresh Kamath and years later they started the band "Kailasa". Two albums on SonyBMG India, five hit songs and non stop touring, Kailasa has attained commercial appeal throughout India while maintaining critical acclaim for the universal and mystical dimension of their lyrics and music.
Also appearing as a special guest, composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Karsh Kale.
