Show Description
“Bitch is the perfect convergence of uncompromising artist, political provocateur and sexual prophet.” – John Cameron Mitchell
Armed with an electric violin, a ukulele and a bass guitar, Bitch (formerly of Bitch and Animal), takes the stage with her band The Exciting Conclusion. Interesting, intelligent, provocative and prolific, Bitch offers up a new, genuine and potent voice in the current soundscape. Blending influences as wide as her vocabulary, her opinions and her closet, her music is reminiscent but never derivative of her folk, hip-hop, rap and rockabilly influences.
Bitch is successfully following her vision of making music that SPIN Magazine calls “symphonic, beat worthy, break your heart ballad-y, and raise the roof revolutionary.” Incorporating theatrics and armed with her multi-facetted talents, expert musicianship and intrinsic stand-out sense of style, and overall bold and unforgettable persona, Bitch is the embodiment of the Modern, DIY aesthetic and IT factor.

“Ferron writes of love with the relentless introspection of Leonard Cohen, and, as with classic Bob Dylan, her songs' tough, questioning attitude sometimes gives way to an unexpected sweetness.” - Rolling Stone Magazine
Ferron, folk-singer-songwriter and storyteller, has released 14 albums, some from her own label, Lucy Records (which she started in 1977). Boulder was her latest release (early 2008), and is a collection of songs that speak the voice of a well-traveled folk hero. It illuminates what we know and love about Ferron—her words, and the weight with which she can help us see the world. The album is produced by the New York City-based indie rocker, Bitch. While the album is mostly her own songs, Ferron steps into new territory by covering one of Bitch’s songs. Boulder is intimate and sparsely arranged, with a slew of special guests (a la Ani DiFranco, The Indigo Girls, JD Samson of Le Tigre, and the list goes on).
Ferron and Bitch have played quite a few shows together, combining a light-hearted banter with songs that captivate and go right to the heart. The result is a powerful union of two poets, made richer by the fact that they come from different generations. An odd billing at first glance, the two are gaining a lot of attention for their intimate live shows.
