"Forget Paris
and Nicky. In a sane world, paparazzi would spend their nights tampeding after
a different pair of sisters: Alabama-bred,
New York-based Allison and
Catherine Pierce. Thirteen Tales showcases the Pierces' genius for high
harmonies, taut songcraft and noirish comedy."
-4 Stars, Blender
"On {Thirteen
Tales Of Love and Revenge}, these Alabama-bred sisters harmonize like sassy
angels on songs that run from glockenspiel-tinted folk to clubby
electro-pop."
-3 1/2 stars, Rolling Stone
"Thirteen
Tales of Love and Revenge unveils a nwe and vastly improved sister act, one
that should earn the Pierces a place alongside fellow Big Apple eccentrics like
Nellie McKay and Regina
Spektor."

Allison and Catherine Pierce are two sisters born
and bred in the deepest of southern places, the beautiful, yet tragic, state of
Alabama.
Now calling New York City
their home, they arrived here, via gypsy kidnappings, bohemian home schooling,
and the strictest of Russian and French ballet masters. A concoction that
led them to Williamsburg, to produce their new album with Roger Greenawalt (Ben
Kweller, Adam Green) This album is The Pierces’ debut for New York’s Lizard
King Records (the label that signed the Killers in the UK and went on to
release the multi-platinum “Hot Fuss” album there). The collection of songs is
quite eclectic, and can be described as a fever-induced gypsy sound which can
only be special brewed in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
