"Jill Sobule can claim her place among the stellar New York singer-songwriters of the last decade. Topical, funny and more than a little poignant ... grown-up music for an adolescent age."
-New York Times
A remarkable songwriter, Jill Sobule sings smart, funny and poignant pop songs that transcend being merely witty and clever to strike deep emotional chords, set to irresistible, well-crafted melodies. Her insightful songwriting and strong guitar work have made her a favorite among musicians like Lloyd Cole (with whom she played in The Negatives), Don Henley, Warren Zevon and others, and her latest Underdog, Victorious, has been getting rave reviews: "Each record [Jill Sobule has] released ... has been better than the last... Her lyrics are always catchy and funny and smart; her hooks and choruses are always fine-tuned and elusive... There's a truth to her stories; it's impossible to avoid. Not that anyone except a total sourpuss would want to." -All Things Considered, National Public Radio.
To celebrate Joe’s Pub’s 10th Anniversary, on October 11th and 12th we are offering 10 free shows showcasing the depth and variety of performances that have made Joe’s Pub the premier venue for live music in New York City. Tickets for the 10 free shows will be available by the Joe’s Pub Virtual Line accessible on www.joespub.com.

There's also a free download of a previous Joe's Pub show on her website right now.
The new Joe's Pub website looks fantastic, BTW. My favorite part is the rule about no "excessive" profanity.
