Neil Nathan makes his Joe's Pub debut with the "Darling Friend" Video Release Party. It's the second single off his new covers EP, Songsmiths. Produced by long time steel collaborator Mike 'Slo-Mo' Brenner (Slo-Mo, ex- of Marah, Jason Molina, and The Low Road), it features unique, low-fi arrangements to the Small Faces "All or Nothing," Laptop's "I'm So Happy You Failed," and "Mia" by Chris Malcarney of the Philadelphia power pop band, The Donuts. The lead single is Neil's folky version of ELO's "Do Ya," recently featured on Showtime's Californication and on the Season 2 Soundtrack alongside Sheryl Crow and Warren Zevon. "Darling Friend" is garage-surfy reinterpretation of Ludwig von Beethoven's "Fur Elise." The video is a surreal, NYC, Dia De Los Muertos homage directed by Vaj Potenza (My Brightest Diamond's "Freak Out Gold Chains Remix").
