Tonight, Anthony Rapp will take the Joe's Pub stage, performing a show with original alterna-pop hits alongside his band, Albinokid with some possible favorite musical numbers from his several famed Broadway and off-Broadway roles

Rapp is best known for originating the role of “Mark Cohen” in the Tony Award-winning rock opera Rent. Rapp shared an OBIE (Off-Broadway) Award with the rest of the cast for the performance. After taking the show from Off-Broadway to Broadway, Chicago to London, Rapp reprised his role in the 2005 Sony Pictures major motion picture adaptation.

Rapp’s prolific career includes roles in additional Broadway shows, major motion pictures and several television series. He is back on tour with a performance adapted from his 2006 national best-seller Without You: a Memoir of Love, Loss, and the Musical “Rent”. Rapp also serves on the board of the non-profit organization Friends In Deed, which provides emotional support for anyone with a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS, cancer or other life-threatening physical illnesses, their families, friends and caregivers.

This show is part of Joe's Pub's 10th Anniversary Celebration in coordination with the Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight weekly concert series every Monday night at 11:30 PM a Joe's. Having begun in September and continuing on through December, the label offers concerts featuring Broadway performers and composers, The Midnight Musicals with concert versions of new and developing productions, and much more. The concert series marks a throwback to the early days of Sh-K-Boom Records, when they offered popular late night concerts in their Sh-K-Boom Room.
