South Africa's Sharon Katz & The Peace Train with special guest Pete Seeger bring their Grammy-nominated, Afro-Pop-Jazz-Roots fusion to Joe's Pub for a fun-raising concert and dance party. The band will combine exhilarating music, exotic harmonies and authentic Zulu dance with a message that goes straight to the heart. Touring worldwide as Nelson Mandela's cultural ambassadors, their credits include performances and CDs with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Sting, Tina Turner, Madonna, Dolly Rathebe and Miriam Makeba. US performance highlights include New Orleans, Jazz & Heritage Festival, The Getty in Los Angeles, and Carnegie's Hall's Neighborhood Concert Series. The concert is a benefit to build a school in South Africa where children currently have to walk 3 hours to the nearest school.
