Show Description
"Each record [Jill Sobule has] released ... has been better than the last... Her lyrics are always catchy and funny and smart; her hooks and choruses are always fine-tuned and elusive... There's a truth to her stories; it's impossible to avoid. Not that anyone except a total sourpuss would want to." -All Things Considered, National Public Radio.
"Jill Sobule can claim her place among the
stellar New York singer-songwriters of the last decade. Topical, funny
and more than a little poignant ... grown-up
music for an adolescent age." - New York Times
A remarkable songwriter, Jill Sobule sings smart, funny and poignant pop songs that transcend being merely witty and clever to strike deep emotional chords, set to irresistible, well-crafted melodies. Her insightful songwriting and strong guitarwork have made her a favorite among musicians like Lloyd Cole (with whom she played in The Negatives), Don Henley, Warren Zevon and others. Tonight she celebrates the release of her latest album.
A one-year New York Magazine subscription, a $9.97 value, will be included with your ticket purchase for this show! Feel free to click here for more information.

There's also a free download of a previous Joe's Pub show on her website right now.
The new Joe's Pub website looks fantastic, BTW. My favorite part is the rule about no "excessive" profanity.
