Now Hall is using her experiences and distinctive sense of humor to create a type of performance art that almost defies description.  Hall plays the cello, and her act encompasses a vibrant mix of music, comedy, and theatre. Her songs cross many genres, including heavy metal and the blues. Her lyrics run the gamut between the sublime and the ridiculous, but she draws audiences with her ability to describe ordinary experiences in ways that are both poignant and funny."

From childhood tragedy at the zoo, scary checkout girls at Duane Reade, to the joys and pitfalls of life in NYC-- the music of Erin and Her Cello will leave you laughing out loud and humming her tunes of disastrous woe.

Carla Rhodes caught the ventriloquial bug at the age of 8 while growing up in Kentucky. She started performing regularly by the age of 13 and as a teenager was mentored by her biggest influence, Shari Lewis. After moving to Tennessee to attend college, Carla recorded a full length comedy music album in Nashville. "I Love Animals," a cut off of "Carla's Golden Hits, vol 6," got rotation on the Dr. Demento's "Top Funny Five," eventually placing at number two. With a Mass Communications degree under one arm, and a puppet under the other, Carla then escaped to New York City.

She currently appears at alternative performance establishments and rock clubs all over New York City and Brooklyn (such as Joe's Pub, Le Poisson Rouge, Highline Ballroom, Issue Project Room). Print credits include New York Magazine, Paper Magazine, Penthouse Forum, the New York Post, Time Out New York and the Village Voice. Tee Vee credits include appearances on FUSE, The Learning Channel and a shout-out on the Late Show With David Letterman.
