Fionn Ó Lochlainn / Brazz Tree

Show Description

"Lovely, lyrical, spiritual, a joy to listen to."
-Howard Zinn

"Not only does he demonstrate a knack for observant songwriting, but he's an impressive guitarist and musters a vocal range that stretches from dry witticisms to power-crooning worthy of Jeff Buckley."

-Time Out NY

"When Fionn played "Waterside" live in the studio for our radio show, he left everyone in the room breathless. His voice is incredibly pure and always soulful. An amazing performer, songwriter, and recording artist."
-Mark Sutton, NPR

"Singer-songwriter Fionn Ó Lochlainn plays a hard-rocking guitar"

-The New Yorker

Known for captivating and breathless performances while filling the Joe’s Pub stage with masterful instrumentalists -- and on occasion, a small choir, Fionn O Lochlainn will be performing a special set on August 1st, including his newly released 'Imaginary Song.' Expect a buoyant and intimate night of insightful ballads, unvarnished love songs, and evocative lyricism.

Fionn O Lochlainn
(voice, guitar) will performing with prodigious American harpist Marta Cook, and virtuoso upright bassist Orlando Le Flemming; both of whom have been highly celebrated in their prospective genres. Showcasing new vibrant material from his forth coming release, as well as a selection of material arranged for this trio ensemble. This show will no doubt be a unique experience, combining elements of acoustic music from both sides of the Atlantic, with O Lochlainn's own variety of rock and soul inspired original material.

"Brazz Tree is something you simply must see to understand fully...think Ella Fitzgerald and Tracy Chapman combined (with a violin in hand) and a deft guitar to accompany her. Mazz sings smooth and soul drenched songs while fiddling classic to Celtic while Brad finger picks a party on his acoustic guitar."
-Jillann Hertel, Monroe Wheel Productions
