Show Description
"With a career that has covered opera, operetta and musical comedy, McMahon combined a gorgeous vocal sophistication, a sparkling presence and an intelligent sense of lyric phrasing. " - Broadwayworld.com
"a deft comic actress" - New York Times
"Her aria floated etherally in the manner of the young Eleanor Steber." - Opera News
Versatile doesn't begin to describe New Orleans born soprano Sarah Jane McMahon. Kept busy on two continents and from coast to coast, Sarah Jane is the rare artist as accomplished on the opera stage, singing with the likes of Placido Domingo, as she is wrapping her silvery voice around broadway show tunes both old and new.
Join her on a musical journey from Harold Arlen to Kurt Weill seasoned with a little touch of French Opera and New Orleans Jazz for good measure. A favorite of both New York City Opera and Scott Siegel's "Broadway by the Year," this is Sarah Jane's debut with Joe's Pub. For more information, please visit: www.sarahjanemcmahon.com.
