Show Description
“It is an intoxicating and unmissable cocktail of power and vulnerability”-The London Times ****
“At the end, the audience shot to its feet and threatened to rush the stage and smother her in “vigantic” love. Now I know what they mean by a perfect storm!”
-The Scotsman *****
Playboy called her a "Punk Goddess,” PDX Magazine called her "A young Bette Midler" but you can just call her Storm. A performer of Wikepedian proportions, Storm Large has been singing and slinging inappropriate banter around the globe for the better part of two decades. Her one woman show, Crazy Enough, had a non-stop, sold out run for five months in her home town Portland Oregon in 2009. In 2010, after her last show at the Pub, Storm and her boys took Crazy Enough across the pond and spent a month collecting oodles of stars from the Brits at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Next stop for Crazy Enough is a top secret booking in Australia where one of the band members may or may not be fed to sharks. It will be mounted stateside in the Fall of 2011. In all her free time, Storm's finishing her first book, with Simon And Schuster, set to be released in June 2012, she is performing with the Oregon Symphony Orchestra and she just finished a run at the Mark Taper Forum in L.A. starring in Randy Newman's musical, "Harps and Angels". Despite her exotic travel and gig schedule, however, Storm is ecstatic to be coming back to NYC to play Joe's Pub because the people in the front row are usually too mesmerized getting their hearts stolen, to notice her stealing their drinks....."Punk Goddess" is right.
