MURRAY HILL OSCAR PARTY

MURRAY HILL OSCAR PARTY with special guests
featuring Oscar Ballots, Trivia, Prizes, and Audience Best & Worst Dressed Awards

Show Description

New York, New York–Celebrate Hollywood's most glamorous night in New York City with comedian Murray Hill "the hardest working middle-aged man in show business" as he hosts his 9th Annual Oscar Party at Joe's Pub, March 7th.  The Oscars will be shown live and during commercials there will be impromptu performances, impersonations of the nominated stars, movie spoofs, interviews from the fake red carpet, movie trivia games and lots of prizes.  A grand prize goes to the Winner of the Oscar Prediction Ballot!  Ballots will be handed out before the show. The audience will also compete for "Best" and "Worst" Dressed and is encouraged to dress like their favorite celebrity for the chance to win fabulous silly prizes and cocktails.

Murray Hill (Mr. Showbiz) will be joined by special guests: Neal Medlyn ("The Paris Hilton of Performance Art") and comedians Cole Escola (LOGO "Jeffrey & Cole Casserole"), Kate McKinnon (LOGO's "Big Gay Sketch Show"), Sandra Bauleo (youtube sensation and John Roberts collaborator) and Robin Cloud (host Triple Minority Report).  The performers will re-enact scenes from this years nominated films and liven up the evening during the long-winded tributes and montages.  The cast of Our Hit Parade (Kenny Mellman, Bridget Everett, Neal Medlyn) will perform a musical medley of the Oscar nominated movies and songs.

In what has become a downtown Oscar tradition, Murray provides his infamous running commentary during commercial breaks and leaves no star behind with his barbed wit and one-liners.  Murray Hill and the cast of comedians will have a busy night impersonating the ripe-for-ribbing leading men and women. This year Murray takes gender-bending to a new level and becomes Mo'nique from "Precious" and Julia Child from "Julie & Julia." Movies sure to get roasted in skits this year: Hurt Locker, Blind Side, Inglourious Basterds, Up In The Air, Avatar and more.

The 82nd Academy Awards, an evening of glamour, glitz, and recession denial, begin at 7:00 pm with the E! Oscar Pre-Show Red Carpet broadcast and continues with the complete Oscar telecast at 8:00 pm shown on a giant screen. Oscar drink specials and full dinner available all night.
