The Heroes Health Project is an extraordinary foundation set up to provide unique help through a successful detoxification program to uniformed personnel who suffer as a result of toxic exposure while in the line of duty. Thousands of police officers and firefighters exposed to toxic methamphetamine labs and soldiers exposed to burn pits in Iraq and Afghanistan are suffering.
It is our intent to help those who have put their lives on the line for their community and country and who have put the welfare of others before their own. They were the heroes we looked to whenever help was needed and who, in providing that help, lost their own health and quality of life.
It is time to give back. We owe them. Please join us in this worthwhile endeavor by donating to the cause.

Great musician. Great sound. Great band. I can't wait to see him live. (But Sam's father still owes me praise for figuring out how to add 1 to 100, dammit!)
How does aHERO get help?

I have a 38 y.o. friend who is the only son of a very proud, yet very sad women, who I love and respect so much. I cannot imagine the deep pains in that family right now. Her son is dying a tragic death, with progressive muscle weakness and atrophy of his muscles. It is so far gonje that he can only whisper. The next muscles to fail are going to be the ones that normally support respirations. This is related to toxic chemical exposure while serving in the Persian Gulf war.... he received full disability from the VA because of it.... is there anything that can be done to help him get better through your detox program?????? Please let me know. I am at dgroff@maine.rr.com. I just attended a benefit dinner and heard about the program you are supporting... I did donate, and I think it is such a worthy cause many will donate. Please provide any info on how my friend and ultimately his mother, wife, their children can be helped and ideally his life spared with more appropriate treatment. Thank you very much!!!!!

Okay, not sure I'm buying this. A local radio station (101.9 rxp) scheduled Vincent D'Onofrio to be on their morning show at 9:00 a.m. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, is this George Geronimo Gerkie. Since Mum said when I had nothing nice to say, don't say anything, I can only say that George is ... colourful. They talked about his eight marriages in nine years, however during all that marriage conversation nobody mentioned George's current status as married. After a little Googling, the only image of Mr. Gerkie I could find sports a wedding ring and bears a striking resemblance to Mr. D'Onofrio. In addition, nowhere on Rolling Stone's website can I located any interview of a George Geronimo Gerkie; although, according to the bio on this website, apparently Rolling Stone interviewed him ('... he is most famous for a role he turned down; police chief Martin Brody in "Jaws" (eventually played by Roy Scheider) because, according to a Rolling Stone interview ...'). Hmm.
