Air Hostess Pam Ann Descends from 37,000 feet into NYC in Her Brand New Hilarious One-Woman Show, “Air Scare”

Direct from her sell-out European comedy tour, air hostess Pam Ann returns to New York City to present her brand new show, Pam Ann: Air Scare, at Joe’s Pub;  Thursday June 2nd through Saturday, June 4th.  In her raucous new production, the gutsy and glamorous, Pucci-clad Pam Ann – who has toured with Cher and crewed private jets for Elton John - takes aim at the numerous airline calamities making news today. 

“Air Scare is inspired by all the alarming incidents that have plagued the airline industry these past few months,” explained Pam Ann at the announcement of the show.  “From engines falling off Qantas Airbus A380s over Singapore to South West installing sunroofs at 37,000ft; if I’d been aboard Southwest on its nosedive descent into the desert, I would have been screaming louder than a coach passenger asking for an upgrade.”

In the show, Pam Ann offers her unique advice to the air traffic controllers falling asleep in their towers (a party drug concoction sure to keep them awake for days) and pokes fun at the recent Air France jumbo Airbus collision into the regional jet at New York’s JFK.  She calls Air France the bullies of the tarmac and warns smaller jets to get out of the way or risk getting their balls clipped. 

She acknowledges that flight travel can be scary but offers her unique tips to make it less so.  “The biggest fear I have is getting stuck in the back of the plane with coach passengers,” Pam Ann says.

Pam Ann: Air Scare is an interactive show where audience participation is encouraged.  The show will feature uproarious film clips including the American premiere of Pam Ann’s latest instructional video, “How to Disarm a Terrorist”.  Additionally, the New York-based rapper Dondre will debut Pam Ann's new rap theme, “Get ‘em Bitch”, live on stage. 

Pam Ann is the alter-ego of Australian comedienne Caroline Reid.   Reid’s portrayal of the outrageous air hostess has been featured in an advertising campaign for British Airways.  In Australia, Pam Ann starred in her own television talk show, “The Pam Ann Show” on the national Foxtel channel. She also hosted Australia’s live broadcast of Mardi Gras that aired in over two million households. 

Performances poke fun at air travel, identifying the individual quirks of some of the biggest international airlines and their stereotypes; mixing it with a generous dose of camp, humor and fabulousness.   Passengers embark on a journey from security check-in to boarding to, hopefully, landing.

In the vein of Dame Edna, Caroline Reid has developed a cult-like international following.  Even Madonna is a fan, describing Pam as “cruelly funny”. 

Caroline Reid resides in NYC.   It was recently announced that Pam Ann will soon be the face of Sky Team Terminal 4 at Heathrow.  She will be featured on all in-flight video programming as well as on CNN and CNBC.
