Show Description

New York metropolitan area-based pop group Nova Social has been active in New York's underground pop scene for over ten years. The group’s new full-length album, For Any Inconvenience, once again mates their ambitious songwriting with electronic and dance music influences.

In addition to founding members David Nagler on vocals & synthesizer and Thom Soriano on guitar, the live version of Nova Social also features Xavier (Scissor Sisters, Sxip Shirey) on vocals, Dan Lipton (Sting, Burt Bacharach) on keyboard and synthesizer, and a string trio comprised of Dana Lyn (Florence and the Machine, Yeti Camp), Tom Chiu (FLUX Quartet), and Clara Kennedy (Justin Bond, Scott Matthew).

Nova Social has previously released two other full-lengths on their Big Sleep Records imprint, The Jefferson Fracture (2002) and Other Words from Tomorrow's Dictionary (2007), plus a self-titled EP (2009), and they contributed their cover of The Specials' "Little Bitch" to the '80s movie tribute High School Reunion. The group also recorded the theme song to Cartoon Network’s "Calling Cat-22."
