D&M / Miko and the Musket

D&M / Miko and the Musket

Show Description

D & M is a blues infused alternative pop band based out of Philadelphia, (think John Mayer meets Fun.) After meeting on the first day of college in the fall of 2009, lead singer Danny Fornasa and Matt Klahre decided to form a band, mixing their shared love of pop, blues, and rock and roll.  They dubbed the band D & M.  It wasn’t the most shocking name, or the most eccentric on their list, but “D & M” told the world who they were in the most honest of ways and let the music take the focus.

They released their new EP, Wait For Me, on April 24th, 2012, produced by Brandon Bost.

“This Philly trio finds a great balance between rocking solos and catchy pop hooks on their latest EP.”
–AOL Music on Delawanna

“Crafting feel-good power-pop tracks that feel equal parts mature and playful, the band are already making waves…”

–Mog Music Network

Guitarist and songwriter Miko de Leon heads NYC-based Miko and the Musket, a soul-folk ensemble harnessing a variety of musical wellsprings. Initially reinforcing his acoustic sound with vocalists Lannon Killea and Molly McAdoo, Miko has since expanded the outfit to include an arsenal of seasoned musicians. Cellist Brandon Ellis, percussionist Moses Kinlow, lead guitarist Mike Steinmetz, and bassist Peter Longofono delve deep into Americana to craft the Musket’s singular repertoire. Together, they evoke everything from gutbucket bluegrass to breezy folk ballads to simmering New Orleans funk, all balanced by the bracing vocal harmonies that have become the band’s trademark. Their irresistible synergy regularly packs venues like Rockwood Music Hall, the National Underground and Arlene’s Grocery. Come September, Miko and the Musket will visit Atlanta to record their debut album at Eldest Only Productions.
