All the Rats & Rags

All the Rats & Rags

Show Description

All the Rats & Rags is an electric new musical based on Charles Dickens’s Oliver Twist and featuring music from Tim Fite’s 2008 album, Fair Ain’t Fair - a carnivalistic funhouse of soul, bluegrass and hip hop.

Set in a future on the brink of a universe-altering revolutionary war, this sci-fi rock opera centers on an adorably clueless spy-bot named Twizt.

Directed by Andrew J. Scoville, assistant director of Broadway’s Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, All the Rats & Rags was workshopped in November of 2011 at the downtown performance space 3LD. With a book devised by the creative team and cast members, the November workshop integrated bizarre and explosive new technologies, thanks to media designers Kate Freer and Dave Tennent (Room 404 Media), even utilizing an Xbox Kinect to control visuals onstage.

This concert reading will debut all-new live orchestrations by Matthew Gliva and Drew Vanderburg plus 11 incredible voices and a special guest appearance by Tim Fite!
