Part concert, part performance piece, part David Lynch film, Kate Douglas and The Imaginary Menagerie will feature a collection of original songs, poems, curiosities and a deer named Lucy. The Imaginary Menagerie will dazzle, surprise, excite and terrify. Presenting original music and lyrics written by Kate Douglas, a sexy collection of singers, musicians and Lucy the Deer.Kate Douglas is an NYC-based composer, writer and performer, She has collaborated with companies such Red Dog Squadron and The Foundry Theatre and has trained at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, Carnegie Mellon, Oxford University and NYPAC. She has sung with artists such as Lisa Sokolov and Todd Almond. Recently, Kate served as the assistant to Mr. Almond on his new score for Sarah Ruhl’s Melancholy play at 13P. She was awarded the 2008 National Society of Arts and Letter’s Lavinia Kohl Award for excellence in literature for her short play treading water, as well as the 2008 NY Young Playwrights Award. Currently, she performs in PUNCHDRUNK’s Sleep No More. BFA NYU ’12.
