Alex Davis recounts both his unique childhood and his heroic transformation as a transgender man, expressed through his own original alterna-pop/indie-rock style music. A Critic's Pick by Time Out New York, Davis returns to New York for this special concert of his 90-minute rock memoir, which chronicles one artist’s quest to become his true, remarkable self.

“Alex Davis is an extraordinary young man, with an extraordinary story to tell and sing to you.”  - Larry Kramer

Singer, songwriter, Alex Davis has been hailed as one of “the top 5 up and coming solo artists” by Music Connection Magazine. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he has been writing music and performing since childhood.

His music was recently placed on numerous TV shows including MTV's "Pranked" and "Bad Dog" on Animal Planet.

A new regular on the LA music scene, Alex performs at such noteworthy venues as The Key Club, The Knitting Factory, and Highways Performance Space. His songwriting, performed on acoustic and electric guitar, has been compared to Elliott Smith's poignant lyricism and the incisive emotionalism of Kurt Cobain. Alex's rock anthem, "Stop" was featured in the 2007 indie black comedy, "Holding Trevor." He has also performed in MTV's 2008 heralded video series, "How do I say this?"

His sophomore EP, Man of the Year, was released in May 2010 to wide acclaim. He's currently working on his highly anticipated forthcoming album, the complete soundtrack to SHAVING.

Guests for this evening include Chris Henry Coffey, Alex Davis, Christopher Ryan Grant, Nikki Kimbrough, Grace McLean, Gayle Rankin and Miranda Russo
