Michael Arden Sings Blue

Michael Arden Sings Joni Mitchell's Blue

Show Description

A concert or theater-goer could look far and wide and never come up with a young man possessed of such rock-the-house potential as Michael Arden." - LA Daily News

"Magnetic" - Variety

In the tradition of Rufus Wainwright's Judy Garland Carnegie Hall concert, and Leslie Kritzer as Patti Lupone at Les Mouches, Joe's Pub is thrilled to present Michael Arden covering Joni Mitchell's seminal album "Blue" in it's entirety, with new arrangements by Todd Almond and a 5-piece band. When "Blue" was released in June, 1971 it was hailed as instant classic, critically and commercially, a potent culmination of her career. The record expressed her depressed assessments of the world balanced by notions of exuberant romantic love. Hit songs include"River", "All I Want", "A Case of You" and many more.

Arden of the greatest young performers of all times. His acting is so natural. And his voice is so versatile, from Spring Awakening-Rock sound to a classical South Pacific-ballad, he can do it all with such grace ...And sure to put a smile on your face.
