some of the shows that we're most excited for. Consider it Joe's Pub 101...or your very own personal music guru showing you this week's path to live-music enlightenment...or just a list that some music nerds put together...

GOLEM (May 13 at 9:30PM)
First, I'm just going to put it out there that I have never been a huge klezmer fan. But GOLEM's youthful energy and incredible New York attitude take them out of the klezmer realm and bring them to this psedo-punk perfection. The bottom line: they deliver solid, accessible yet mold-breaking, original music.

QUARTET SAN FRANCISCO (May 13 at 11:30PM)
It’s always great when we a theater performance, an Eastern
European folk-punk band and a stripped down Grammy nominated chamber ensemble
all in one night at the Pub. I’m looking forward to hearing Quartet San
Francisco’s spin on Raymond Scott compositions and fusion of different musical
styles.
